Two Paths. One Displacement.
The most important decision in the intermediate 125cc class is not which model — it is which transmission. Every rider in this class is in one of two places: ready to learn the clutch, or not yet there. Both paths use the same 125cc engine.
🟢 Automatic — X6 & X16
No clutch. No gear shifting. Same CVT automatic operation as the youth class — the rider focuses entirely on throttle, braking, and terrain. The right path for riders who have moved up from a youth bike and want more displacement without adding clutch complexity.

🔴 Manual Clutch — X5 & X15
4-speed manual with a clutch lever — the rider controls gear shifts. A new skill that opens up more machine capability and is the foundation for every larger bike. This is where real throttle and clutch coordination develops.

- X15 — 33" seat, 12" ground clearance, ~20" seat-to-peg, kick start

Four Models. Pick Your Path.
Within each transmission path, the choice is frame size and geometry. Both the X5 and X6 sit at 30-inch seat height with 14"/12" wheels — sized for the lower end of the intermediate range. The X15 and X16 step up to 33-inch seat height with more ground clearance and a larger frame for taller riders who are still in the intermediate skill range.

The automatic entry point into 125cc. Same displacement as the X5 — no clutch, no shifting. For riders who have outgrown the youth class and want more power without the added challenge of clutch management. 30" seat height, 14"/12" wheels.
Manual clutch with more room to grow. 33" seat height, 12" ground clearance, approximately 20" seat-to-peg distance, and 14"/12" wheels — the larger frame for taller riders in the intermediate class who are learning clutch control and want a bike they won't outgrow as fast.
The top of the automatic intermediate class. Fully automatic with hydraulic disc brakes front and rear and 33" seat height — more stopping power and more frame than the X6, for riders who have built confidence on smaller automatics and are ready to step up without picking up a clutch.

Manual Clutch — The Foundation Skill
Learning to operate a clutch is the single most important skill transition in dirt bike riding. It opens up every larger machine — every adult bike at FE Motorsports runs a manual clutch. The X5 and X15 are where that skill gets built correctly, on a manageable 125cc frame.
Automatic — More Displacement, Same Simplicity
The X6 and X16 give a developing rider real 125cc power without adding clutch complexity. For riders who are still building trail confidence and throttle control, keeping the transmission automatic means one less thing to manage while skills develop.
Two Frame Sizes — Match the Rider
30" seat height (X5, X6) for riders at the lower end of the intermediate range. 33" seat height (X15, X16) for taller riders who need more room. Choosing the right frame size is as important as choosing the right transmission — a bike that fits is a bike the rider can control.
Hydraulic Disc Brakes — X16
The X16 steps up to hydraulic disc brakes front and rear — more consistent stopping power at higher speeds and on varied terrain. For a rider who has developed real trail speed and needs braking that keeps up, the X16 is the right automatic choice.
CARB Approved — All Four Models
All four intermediate models are CARB approved and carry California Green Stickers — legal at Gorman, Rowher Flat, Azusa Canyon, and every other OHV park in California. Off-road use only — not for street use.
The Right Bridge to Adult Machines
A rider who masters the X5 or X15 on a manual clutch is ready for the X18, X19, or DB-36 with confidence. A rider who builds trail speed and technique on the X6 or X16 is ready to step into clutch control on a larger machine. This class is not a destination — it is a bridge.
